The team responds to three prompts simultaneously: what worked well, what did not work, and what we would do differently next time. Responses appear as categorized cards on a shared screen. Patterns across the team are visible before anyone has said a word out loud.
Most lessons learned sessions happen in a meeting where a few people talk and a facilitator types notes into a document. That document rarely gets read again. A live, simultaneous format produces a different result: everyone contributes, the real patterns surface quickly, and the output is already organized by the time the conversation starts.
How to use it:
- Share the participation link or QR code at the end of the project, or at the start of the debrief meeting
- Everyone responds to all three prompts privately and simultaneously
- Review the categorized cards together: what themes appear most often? What is the one change the team would make next time?
Works for: end-of-project reviews, consulting engagement debriefs, program close-outs, quarterly retrospectives with a longer time horizon, or any moment where a team needs to capture what it learned before moving on to the next project.
