The team sees a set of proposed objectives and votes on which ones feel most critical for the quarter. Then each person contributes their own suggested key results. The distribution of votes appears as a live bar chart, so misalignments are visible before anyone has committed to a direction.
OKRs drafted by one person and announced to the team often get nominal agreement and quiet skepticism. When the team participates in setting them, the conversation shifts. This activity does not replace the OKR process. It gives the team a way to contribute before the final decisions are made.
How to use it:
- Share the participation link or QR code at the start of the planning session
- The team votes on proposed objectives and adds suggested key results from their own perspective
- Review the live results together: where is the team aligned? Where is it split? Use the gaps to guide the planning conversation
Works for: quarterly planning sessions, leadership offsites, cross-functional alignment meetings, or any moment where you want the team’s input on direction before the OKRs are finalized.
